Celebration of local seafood returns to Woodbridge for fourth consecutive year as our our town hosts the famous Shuck Shellfish Festival this October.
Set to be the biggest and best yet, organisers are welcoming the change of venue bought on by developments to the event's previous home, Whisstocks Boatyard. Spanning over four days across Woodbridge, the festival begins with the hugely popular Shuck Shack pop-up restaurant returning to the Tide Mill on Thursday 8th and Friday 9th, organised by Bespoke Events. Stephen David and his team will be serving up a shellfish treat at this truly unique venue.
On Saturday 10th, the Shuck has partnered up with Choose Woodbridge's 'What's Tasty?' local food producers market on Market Hill. Cooking demonstrations by the town's chefs will be alongside stalls of artisan suppliers selling quality food from land and sea.
Seafood Sunday rounds off four days of gastronomic celebration, with a relaxed community celebration by the Tea Hut with a showcase of local producers, music and a choice of delicious food from across the word as well as fully stocked bars including Champagne and Pimms. There will also be a Shuck Off: Oyster Shucking Competition between chefs from local restaurants!
On Sunday evening, a Safari Supper in Woodbridge will see diners move between restaurants having one delicious locally-sourced course in each.
Chris Harrold, Chairman of Choose Woodbridge said: “We’re very happy to be involved in the organisation of this year’s event. It is great for Woodbridge and really joins up the river with the town, celebrating delicious local food and the people who produce, cook and eat it! We have a fantastic team working on this year’s event with representatives from Simpers, Bespoke Events, Infotex, The Crown at Woodbridge, Woodbridge Tide Mill and The Tea Hut as well as ourselves. We look forward to seeing many locals and visitors enjoying the festival.”What's On:
