New summer cocktails
We promised you a new cocktail for the summer and here it is....
Introducing Hugo! A Hugo is a light, floral, sweet and bubbly cocktail made up of St Germain Elderflower Liqueur, Prosecco and a dash of soda water.
'Hugo' is a German word, meaning mind, heart and spirit, however the cocktail wasn't created in Germany, it actually comes from Northern Italy and was created as an alternative to a spritz.
It's an easy one to make yourself at home if you're having an evening in. If you don't have elderflower liquer, you can swap it for cordial or syrup and if you feel it's missing a bit of a kick, add a splash of gin. Full recipe below.
Because we're feeling generous, we decided that one cocktail wasn't enough, so we've added a second - THE drink of the summer - Aperol Spritz.
The traditional aperitif cocktail is undoubtedly the most widespread and commonly drunk aperitif in Italy and is the drink everyone seems to be sipping on a summer afternoon.
Both these cocktails will be available over the summer. Check our specials board or ask our bar team for details.
