First of all, I need to introduce you to the newest member of The Hotel Folks executive team Rob Dixon, your new Hotel Manager at The Crown. If you’ve ever visited any one of our coastal properties, especially The Brudenell, you cannot have failed to notice/heard Rob. Rob is one of those guys who just can’t help looking after people, so people of Woodbridge you are in for a real treat! Therefore, on behalf of myself and Rob, we’d like to keep you, our loyal guests updated.
Before I continue I hope you, your friends, and family are all keeping safe and well during this extremely challenging time? If you or a loved one have been personally affected, our heartfelt thoughts go out to you from everyone at The Crown.
Now the government and UK Hospitality have released the final guidelines we can now communicate the official changes we are making to keep you safe and well during your time with us.
Rob has been chomping at the bit to get started and hopefully, you’ll notice the place looking a little tidier inside? Rob and his fellow Hotel Folk have been working hard to retain the balance between The Crown experience you have learned to expect whilst giving you the confidence you need to eventually plan your next visit. Let me talk take a few minutes to explain some of the changes you may expect to see.
If you’d been into The Crown over the past year Ben Hegarty has been telling his food story to anyone who will listen and he’s back bigger than ever before. In the first few weeks, we’ve decided to break Ben and his kitchen Folk in gently and only serve dinner Wednesday through to Saturday from 6 pm. However, don’t worry his brunch is back every day as is the early morning coffee vibe, lunch is available until 2.30 pm and of course, you can enjoy a pre-booked afternoon tea if you’ve been craving something sweet?
The Crown is also a great place to meet up with family and friends, all too distant during the last three months. Our Private Dining Room, terrace, and various sections of our restaurant are all available to hire. So, get that missed birthday celebration or wedding anniversary back in the diary. Speak to Rob himself, Georgia our Restaurant Manager, or e-mail our events team to get things organised.
As I’m sure many of you remember the bar can get quite busy, especially on the weekend. During this time please enjoy your drinks at a socially distanced table in the bar, restaurant, or on the terrace.
We will course be asking you to look after yourselves a little more than usual, whilst we’re happy to bring your tea or wine choice to your table, we’ll allow you to pour it for yourself. You’ll also notice our tables won’t be pre-laid, all cutlery will be brought to you throughout your meal with each course.
You’ll notice a few small changes in reception, we’re kindly asking guests to check out a little earlier at 10.30 am and check-in no earlier than 3 pm simply to allow housekeeping to complete an even more thorough clean of our bedrooms before the next guest arrives.
Whilst we are happy to assist with your luggage we will be able to leave and collect from your door, please organise with Rob and he can arrange this for you. You’ll notice all in-room reading has been removed therefore you’ll receive a more enhanced pre-arrival e-mail on completion of your reservation.
Turning to housekeeping, our Head Housekeeper Gosia Wray has also been making some subtle changes. Some examples include the earlier check out as referenced above. Daily housekeeping for residents staying more than one night will only be completed by request. We are of course happy to do this for you, we just ask you to arrange this with Rob or Georgia at reception. We always have an array of fresh, fluffy towels and toiletries to hand, one of Gosia’s team can always oblige.
In the public areas of the hotel, you’ll notice our housekeeping Folk are always on hand to ensure all popular touch-points are regularly sanitised as well as lots of sanitiser stations around the hotel. Your safety and our high standards of cleanliness are of utmost importance to us.
I do hope this information has put your mind at ease and given you some reassurances as to the steps we are taking to make sure your return is a safe one.
