Please read on to keep up to date with some of the basic points around what you might need to know before visiting us.

Welcome, here at The Crown at Woodbridge, we are looking forward to welcoming many of you over the coming months, and with the situation around Covid-19 continuously changing, I would like to update you on what you can expect on your next visit. Should you have any unanswered questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch, either by phone or using the contact form at the bottom of this page, and our friendly Folk will assist you further. On behalf of myself, David Scott, CEO of The Hotel Folk, and Rob Dixon, Hotel Manager of The Crown, we’d like to keep you, our loyal guests updated.

Vaccinations

Whilst I’m sure many of you will have already had a booster vaccination, for those who have not, we still wish to ensure that every guest has a happy, and safe experience with us here in Woodbridge. We understand that whilst the vaccine programme is accelerating, not everybody will have had the chance to get one, and so we ask that anybody who has not yet had a booster, please complete a negative lateral flow test before joining us. This is to protect the safety of both our Folk and fellow guests.

I would also like to inform you that I am actively encouraging our Folk to go and get the vaccine, with time off provided as necessary to attend appointments, and to recover from any post-vaccine sickness, should it be required. As with our guests, Folk who have not been able to get a booster vaccination, are also asked to complete a negative lateral flow test each day before coming in to work. 

Face Coverings

We have made the decision to re-introduce the requirement of face coverings when moving around The Crown at Woodbridge. This is in order to protect the safety of both our Folk and our guests, however, face-coverings are not required to be worn whilst seated in our bar and restaurant areas. We appreciate your understanding of this.

Social Distancing

Whilst you may notice social distancing becoming less evident with a gradual reduction in the restaurant and bar, we continue to ask guests to respect each other's space, and that of our Folk, especially during busier periods.

Table Service

We are pleased to be returning to usual service in terms of placing your food and drinks orders. With the elimination of table service only, we are now able to allow guests to order, drink and mill at the bar once more.

Dining with us?

We are open from 8am for morning refreshments, whether it be a simple coffee to kickstart your day, or tucking into our Breakfast and Brunch menu, which is available daily until 2.30pm. Lunch service commences at 12pm and runs until 2.30pm, find at our current menu here. Afternoon Tea is available 3pm – 5pm Monday to Saturday and you can find our current menu here. Please be aware that we require 48 hours’ notice if you’d like to join us for Afternoon Tea, for the simple reason that it’s all freshly made on the day.

Join us for dinner between 6pm and 8.45pm Monday to Thursday, with Friday and Saturday service running a little later until 9.15pm. We currently aren’t open for dinner service on Sunday’s, but you can join us for Sunday lunch up until 2.30pm. If you’d like to enjoy brunch, lunch or dinner at The Crown at Woodbridge, but you haven’t booked, not to worry, we happily welcome walk-ins too! Seating is available in the restaurant and out on the terrace (weather dependant) for any of the above-listed food offerings.

Welcoming larger groups, functions, weddings and events…

We are pleased to welcome larger groups to our boutique hotel and restaurant. With those special occasions that you may have had to rearrange, or you have planned for a future date, our Folk would love to look after you. Whether it be a larger table in our restaurant, out on the terrace, or sole use of our private dining room, The Deben, our Folk are on hand to ensure your celebration is as memorable as it should be. Track and Trace

The NHS Track and Trace QR code will still be available for all guests to scan should you wish to, but again, this will no longer be a requirement.

Staying with us?

You are welcome to check in anytime from 3pm on your arrival date, and check out by 10.30am on your day of departure. Our housekeeping Folk have returned to usual service with regards to mid-stay cleans. If you would prefer not to have your room cleaned throughout your stay with us, please be sure to let us know when you arrive, and make use of the 'do not disturb' sign in your bedroom. We always have an array of fresh, fluffy towels and toiletries available, should you need these replenishing, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Our Day and Night Porters are always happy to assist with your luggage, again, just let us know and we will arrange this for you.

Cleaning

In the public areas of the hotel, you’ll notice our housekeeping Folk are always on hand to ensure all popular touch-points are regularly sanitised. You can also find sanitiser stations around the hotel. Your safety and our high standards of cleanliness remain of utmost importance to us.

Breakfast

We are also pleased to confirm the return of our buffet breakfast if you are staying the night. You are welcome to join us for breakfast at your leisure, our Folk will talk you through this when you check in. Unfortunately, we aren’t currently able to offer room service at this time.

A final note…

I do hope this information has put your mind at ease and given you some reassurance as to the steps we are taking to make sure your return is a safe one. Leaving you to enjoy the excitement of booking a trip away from home.
