Visit The Suffolk Punch Trust
Sink Farm, St Davids Lane, Hollesley, Woodbridge IP12 3JR
Open Wednesday to Monday 10am - 4pm
The Suffolk Punch breed dates back centuries, with all Suffolk Punch horses tracing back to stallion Crisp's Horse of Ufford, who was foaled in 1768!
The Suffolk Punch Trust was established back in 2002 and offers visitors the opportunity to see this magnificent, critically endangered breed up close.
The farm is open to all ages and offers a range of activities including stable demonstrations that include how to braid a horses mane, how to put on a harness and more, as well as tractor trailer rides, personalised tour guides and even the chance to adopt a horse!
Come and join these gentle giants for a great family day out in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Suffolk Punch Trust is home to the Hollesley Bay Colony Stud – the world’s oldest breeding stud farm of the critically endangered Suffolk Punch horse.
The Suffolk Trilogy - Suffolk Punch horses, Red Poll cattle and Suffolk sheep - can all be found here, along with the Pets Paddock which houses pygmy goats, chickens, ducks and guinea pigs.
Agricultural history can be uncovered in the Heritage Museum and the beautiful Heritage Garden has a vast array of plants that have been bred by Suffolk people or are in some way associated with the county.
The café provides a selection of delicious homemade meals, whilst the gift shop stocks a wide array of locally produced gifts and souvenirs. There's also indoor and outdoor play areas for the little ones and three farm trails to follow around the 120-acre site.
Free entry to the Heritage garden, museum, café, shop and play areas.
Entrance charges apply to visit the Stud farm.
The Suffolk Punch Trust runs special event days throughout the year, including Horse & Dog Shows, Easter events, Halloween fun and a Christmas Grotto & Craft Fair.
